Stretch your legs with a family friendly, slightly quirky, good ole’ fashioned game of mini golf at Golfing to the Sun Mini Golf.
Glacier's newest summer attraction is finally open, and we don't know how we ever lived without it!
Located in the heart of historic West Glacier Village, Golfing to the Sun Mini Golf is family friendly, slightly quirky, and darn right good ol' fashioned fun. The 18+ holes are loaded with challenge and characters, each ripe in Glacier trivia. It's like a tour through Glacier National Park's history and it's fun for the whole family!
You haven’t experienced Glacier National Park until you’ve witnessed the magnificent views from the waters of the Middle Fork of the Flathead River, which runs along the park’s southern boundary. Glacier Raft Co. run trips daily on the Class II-III whitewater section, as well as scenic floats on calmer waters.
West Glacier Village is located just outside the park entrance and is a convenient basecamp for your adventures in the park. Just one mile up the road is the Apgar Visitor Center, where you can speak to Park Rangers about any questions you might have or get hiking recommendations. Apgar is also the hub for the free Park Service Shuttle, which typically runs from July 1 until Labor Day.
Glacier National Park is known for its unforgettable hiking trails - and West Glacier has plenty. The Apgar Lookout trail is a strenuous, yet rewarding hike with spectacular views of Lake McDonald. The trailhead is just up the road from West Glacier. Avalanche Lake, one of the park’s most popular trails, is a bit further into the park. It’s a moderate trail that ends in a beautiful alpine lake and is 17 miles up the Going-to-the-Sun Road. We recommend getting to the trailhead early to beat the crowds, but if you’re staying in West Glacier, you already have a head start!
Getting around West Glacier Village is easy - everything is within walking distance, including the new West Glacier RV Park. We recommend having a vehicle to ensure maximum flexibility while you’re exploring the park, but the Park Service offers a free shuttle along the Going-to-the-Sun that runs from Apgar to St. Mary.
